For more than our first hundred years, our country's women were not heard;
Half the nation could not vote, our democratic dream deferred!
A brave, persistent, broad array of citizens who raised their voices
Earned at last the sacred right to help their country make its choices.
A century of women's votes!
Let's celebrate by taking note
Of pioneers who led the fight
to help secure that precious right!
